The 9 Best Coffee Makers with Grinders for Your Home

Are you a coffee lover wanting to explore the best coffee machines on the market? Well, we can help you do just that with this breakdown of the best coffee makers of 2022!

Modern Home Tips

When you’re a coffee person, you know the importance of finding the best coffee maker. It seems like some machines can take anything and turn it into sludge, while others make miracle brews out of any blend.

Today’s coffee machines usually have certain features that come standard. You’ll see an auto-off selection for safety reasons. After the brewer is idle for a predetermined time, it shuts itself off. This saves on your power bill but also prevents damage caused by an overheating coffee maker.

Most machines also have a programmable clock that you can set to start your coffee at prime time for your brewing needs. Some of these step up their selling point by allowing you to pre-program the strength and size of the type of coffee you prefer, too.

Beyond those commonalities, every coffee machine becomes unique. Manufacturers understand that to a true coffee lover, making their daily cup is an art, not a routine. Because of this, you have hundreds of features mixed and matched in any given machine, like the popular and necessary coffee grinder.

Between grinders, extra features, and different coffee results, you end up with an almost overwhelming choice to make. How do you know which one to buy when there are so many possibilities?

We’ve broken down the competition for you to give you the top nine coffee makers, including grinders, for your home use.

What’s the Difference Between a Blade and a Burr Coffee Grinder?

Grinders have become as essential a feature as the auto-off and program options. These wonders of the coffee revolution come in two types — blade and burr — and it’s important that you know which one you prefer.

Blade grinders are like food processors in that they have sharp blades that spin, slice, and cup grind your coffee beans into fine silt. The pro is that these are typically cheaper, but the con is that they don’t produce the same result every time.

Burr grinders, instead of slicing, crush your coffee beans at a low level of heat. Instead of a fast spin and slice, they take their time. This care ensures a coffee that is consistently less bitter or burnt. Burr grinders are pricier, but the result is a higher quality end product.

1. Cuisinart DGB-900BC Grind-and-Brew 12-Cup Automatic Coffeemakers

Premium whole bean coffee

When you invest in a top-quality coffee maker, the return on your investment is well worth the initial cost. This is evident in the Cuisinart DGB-900BC Grind-and-Brew 12-Cup Automatic coffee maker.

Cuisinart Coffee Machine with Grinder

This combination of brewer and coffee grinder has typical features. But it also gives users the ability to choose their preferred strength between mild, medium, and strong.

Crush up to half a pound of coffee beans in the burr grinder, filling your home with the fragrant aroma of your favorite blend. If you want to enjoy a sip of the coffee you worked so hard for, use the brew-pause feature. It lets you sneak a cup even before all the brewing is complete.

With its GoldTone basket coffee filter, you never have to buy paper coffee filters again. It serves as a permanent filter you can use time and again.

The Cuisinart DGB-900BC is on the pricier end of our reviews, averaging around $305. But with the high-quality output you end up with, it’ll save you a ton of cash on coffee bar runs. That’s why it’s our top pick.

I love the features and it’s super convenient to set it the day before and have it grind and brew automatically in the morning. We had a separate grinder before and the convenience of having it in one machine is worth the cost! The thermal container keeps the coffee hot for HOURS. I’m always pleasantly surprised by how long it stays hot.

2. Cuisinart Grind & BrewTM 12-Cup Automatic Coffee Maker

The Cuisinart Grind & Brew 12-Cup coffee maker has extra bang for your buck on a decently budgeted price. Averaging around $80, this programmable coffee maker isn’t top of the line. But it’s an excellent choice for those who don’t want to invest big bucks to get their morning cup of joe.

Features include 24-hour program options for multiple brews and an auto shut-off choice of up to four hours. The capacity to make 12 cups in one brewing sets it apart from many drip coffee makers.

The coffee grinder crushes your whole beans, then turns them into evenly spread grounds without the bitter taste of a fast slice. You can also turn off the grind feature and use your pre-ground coffee.

It includes charcoal water filters and a GoldTone filter basket. Though the machine comes without a drip tray, its hot plate keeps your coffee hotter for longer.

Easy use and easy clean-up, plus a reasonable price, make this drip coffee maker an attractive option for everyone.

I have had this for 9 months now and I absolutely love it. I did a ton of research, read tons of reviews, and finally pulled the trigger on this one. So happy I did. This makes AMAZING coffee. Quite frankly, the best drip I have ever had. The burr grinder is key. Crushing the coffee beans instead of chopping makes a world of difference and you can definitely taste the difference in the coffee. A more aromatic, smoother, and buttery taste. It is a very high-quality coffee maker too. All the parts are very durable and seemingly long-lasting. Being that it is all-in-one makes it super convenient to make coffee in the morning when on the go (just make sure you clean at night as it can be a bit tedious to clean) If you are not sure, you won’t regret this purchase. Highly recommended!

Big fan of Capresso. Have had it for years. I confess I am a coffee snob and a coffeeholic.
Great coffee. Love that it cleans the burr grinder itself. Love that you can do this as well. Very nicely done. I would have liked the thermal pot … but the thermal pot was only ten cups, so I went with the glass carafe since it was twelve cups. I wish they had one that could make a pot AND a cup of coffee. A girl can dream!

Customer Review
Okay, so, it’s expensive. Let me tell you, having bought (and returned) the budget model from Breville, ANYONE can make a decent espresso drink with this machine. We don’t do much dairy, and a concern has been getting coconut and almond milk to “froth,” as well as pulling a good shot of espresso through the darn thing…. It totally lives up to expectations. I made like 30 lattes in the first weekend we had it, just experimenting. It’s a really, really good machine. 10/10.

Customer Review
Don’t let the amazon stars fool you. This is probably one of the best Grind & Brews out there. We have owned a LOT of these products as the functionality and longevity of all other brands have been extremely short of stellar. This thing makes GREAT hot coffee & has performed flawlessly for over three years… Still makes great coffee every morning just as well as the day we purchased it. I cannot say that for ANY other brand we have owned. A lot of the reviews say it’s too complicated, too much work, etc… Quit whining… Maybe instant is the way to go for them… No, I did not receive a free gift or get paid for writing a review… We have spent good money over & over again trying to find something that would work well for more than a year or so (some lasted much less before giving up the ghost)… a machine that didn’t make lukewarm coffee… and one that didn’t grind a half pound of beans while doing it… This is that machine… KUDOS Breville!

6. BLACK+DECKER 12-Cup Mill and Brew Coffeemaker, Black, CM5000B

As coffee maker manufacturers go, Black & Decker is a reputable old standby. Consumers have enjoyed the high-quality products they offer for decades. Their Black & Decker 12-Cup Mill and Brew coffee maker is yet another enticing item provided by them.

At a reasonable $80 average price, the 12-cup coffee maker is budget-priced for everyone looking to wake up to a good cup of coffee.  Quick blade grinding and brewing give you fresh coffee without a hassle.

If you want high-quality flavor without the stress of too many features to choose from, this is the coffee maker for you. QuickTouch programming lets you select from basic features like auto brew and strength.

The basic features and improved flavor-enhancing options are a selling point. The B&D name with it makes this a must-have for the average daily coffee drinkers.

Customer Review
This machine has everything anyone could possibly ever ask for from a coffee machine, outside of a maid to press the buttons for you. The design is familiar so there’s no messing around with a book full of directions to understand how to make your coffee. You have the option of using pre-ground or whole-grain coffee (my preference) and you can program it to brew whenever you’d like. Personally, I’m also using this machine as an alarm clock (I live in a studio and my bed is right next to my kitchen so this is a perk for us small dwelling residents).
It’s also easy to clean, if you’re lazy you can just dump the ground coffee after brewing and quickly rinse both the basket (no separate filter needed!) and the carafe and you’re good to go for the next day. You should probably soap it up once in a while though, to at least feel like you cleaned the thing once in a while. Get you some good coffee!

7. Krups KM550D50 Personal Coffee Maker with Built-in Grinder

cup of coffee from a coffee maker

For some people, part of the attraction of their coffee maker is how well it looks on their kitchen counter. If that sounds like you, check out the Krups KM550D50. Not too many all-in-one coffee machines with built-in grinders look this sleek and attractive and produce such a great coffee, also!

This Krups machine does have a blade grinder, which reduces the consistency of your final flavor, but the other features help to make up for this lack. It’s a powerful machine that pulverizes ground beans or transforms your pre-ground product into a robust and rich coffee — quickly.

It has easy button controls, two grind settings, and a glass carafe with an ergonomic handle. Keep in mind, it is on the smaller side, only making four cups of coffee at one time.

The Krups can be yours for around $100 or less on Amazon. It gives you reliable quality and an intuitive product without the gourmet price tag.

Spent lots of time researching 4-5 cup grind and brew coffee makers. Extremely satisfied with my final choice. The burr grinder performs very well; overall solidly constructed; easy to use and clean. Verified with Krups – the plastic used is BPA free which was a concern. Truly enjoying delicious robust coffee once again. Appreciating this awesome little machine as I get to know it more personally each morning; aptly named Personal. A tip: as noted in the instructions for cleaning, make sure the chute is cleared of residue after each use.

I bought this machine for my parents first, they loved it, so I got one too. It makes amazing coffee and cappuccino! Got another one for my now ex. All 3 machines work great for over 4 years now! And I’m not afraid for it to break, since there’s ton of parts online for this model. My advice, buy an additional milk carafe, so you can keep one in the fridge and another one washed or for soy/oat milk for those healthy drinking guests.
